HOLIDAY CHEER WITH A FEATHER OR TWO

Image
Raven Poe, from IKE'S digis makes an appearance in this Festive Feathery piece. I used Amsterdam Paints, mixed with Floetral and water for this Pour.  When I was done, I wasn't happy with it, so mixed up some Colourarte Pigments, with triple mix varathane and minwax and used the deep red in order to jazz the piece up. Under this piece is a rather thin layer of white house paint - just a generic paint bought at Home Depot.  I did not use Glidden for this, as it didn't start out to be a Pigment Pour, for which thicker paint works best.  Please email me if you have any questions re mixtures etc. You can see POE and other artist's renditions of Feathers on IKESWORLDCHALLENGEBLOG. WATER LIFE

Image
Today's Pour is a combination of my own Acrylic Pour Style, with the addition of IKE'S Zombie Fish. The Pour came out with these funky "macaroni noodle" looking things, and they seem perfect for a sea floor.  And IKE'S Zombie collection, well I am just simply a huge fan, so the addition of these cute little zombie fishies was easy!  This is featured, with other artists, at IKESWORLDCHALLENGE BLOG. For this Pour I used only Little Piggy Pigment's and triple thick verathane and minwax.  Underneath that, is a "pillow" of Glidden House paint, which I use because it works so much better with Pigments.  It is thick and allows the Pigments to "roll" rather than fly all over in a "more" unpredictable manner.  Please email me if you have any more questions about the Pour. Be Blessed Always, Samara To give you a better look at IKE'S cuties...

HAPPY SPOOKY HALLOWEEN

Image
Acrylic Pour with IKE'S wonderful "Spooky House". To give a bit of dimension (it is a challenge with a 2 D on a 3D) I cut out the windows of the Spooky House.  I think it works to show the bright colors underneath, without losing the design of the Pour. For this Pour I used a combo of Liquitex Basics Paint, mixed with Floetral and water, and Colourarte Pigments, mixed with triple mix verathane and minwax.  Please email me if you want more specifics (measurements etc.) It has been an interesting venture attempting to combine my art with IKE'S great digis, in order to return to design for IKE'S WORLD CHALLENGE BLOG. I'd have to say I am up for this challenge! Be Blessed Always, Samara For a better look at IKE'S DIGI - Spooky House... HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Image
SHANA TOVA - HAPPY ROSH HASHANAH September is the beginning of one of my holidays - a wonderful philosophy for a "Fresh Start". Our Holidays sees G-d write us into The Book Of Life for yet, another year.  We all hope we are worthy of this privilege. :) I've used an image from IKE, of IKESWORLDCHALLENGEBLOG.BLOGSPOT.COM .   This month I returned to IKE'S CHALLENGE as one of the Designers for IKE'S incredible art.  Her sketches are some of my favorites to use to dream up a creation. This is new for me - to stick to my Style - ACRYLIC POUR - and to find ways to integrate IKE'S wonderful digital images on to, or into the POUR.  I am up for the challenge! I've used IKE'S MEZUZA SERIES - a TORAH specifically, which is a Hebrew Bible written on a piece of parchment and placed inside of the ORNATE TORAH, and rolled out and read during The Rosh Hashanah Service. If you have any questions about technique, or products used, please click the 3 dashes at the top ...

NIGHT SKY SERIES

Image
NEW SERIES - All About the Night Sky I was so pleased to see that I can combine my various styles of art...this was a "fluke!" Aren't so many of our art pieces like that. This piece was created using the typical Acrylic Pour Technique a la Bloom Style.  I dried it outside, varnished it outside, then Photographed it outside - and voila!  The shadow is a reflection of me taking the picture. Once I realized this integration of styles (Photography and Painting and of course Nature's Artistic Palette) is possible, I am in the midst of creating a NIGHT SKY SERIES that will have various reflections within them.  Some reflections I'd like to use are ones taken directly from Nature. If you have any questions about technique, or products used, please email me.  I'd be happy to answer anything, and share what I have learned along the way in the art process, and how exactly I created this piece and reflection. Be Blessed Always, Samara ART SHARED WITH THESE CHALLENGES: A...

SURF'S UP!

BEACHING IT!   The Ocean Series ๐Ÿ’งWho doesn't love the look of a rolling ocean, ๐Ÿ’ง a tide washing up ๐Ÿ’งor waves crashing on the sand? This Ocean Series idea was developed with a brand of pigments (powdered paint) called This Little Piggy Pigments , from their first Anniversary Party.  This Little Piggy Pigments are rich and bold, or soft and sparkly, or romantic and dreamy - whatever look you are going for.  The best part - they last forever - very little pigment (with added Pouring Medium) needed for each pour.   SheleeArt hosted a party of some of Shelee's fav Artists on You Tube, all creating The Beach Theme.    I've been creating Galaxy Series and Ocean Series for the past 2 years, simply because they display my favourite colors and Earth Element.  It was so inspiring seeing other Artist's take on creating an Acrylic Pour Beach Scene.   Because of the substrate, techniques, tools, surfaces available to use, the series...

๐Ÿ’™  WELCOME to SAMARA POURS! It has always been a dream to bring my ART into your home. From the first  ACRYLIC POUR , there was no turning back.  All other styles of creating fell away and Acrylic Pouring took over my days.   Getting messy, getting colorful, getting texturized  - I was hooked.   Warning  - Pouring is very addictive!  In the blog post, I will be posting "my process" of an acrylic pour, detailed instructions, and substrates and tools used to create the pour, from beginning to end. On my SIDEBAR will be a gadget with all ART FOR SALE.  You can email me with any questions regarding the process or a purchase. I hope you enjoy my art in your home, as much as I enjoy creating it. Be Blessed Always, Samara
